RDS Pistol Operator 2-day (16 hour)
RDS (red dot sight) equipped handguns are gaining popularity for carry and duty guns. But with the implementation of an RDS program, there must be accompanying training to ensure proficiency on the new weapons platform. In RDS Operator, we will cover a wide range of topics to not only help you become proficient in the use of the RDS pistol, but improve your skillset as a shooter and increase your understanding of the handgun platform.
This course is designed for a shooter that has a solid shooting foundation and is wanting to transition from iron sight shooting to red dot pistol shooting. This class will push the envelope mentally; be prepared to learn a wide variety of new information. This class will challenge even the most proficient shooter.

Zeroing
Recoil control techniques through structure, not strength
Proper trigger manipulation
Mastering draw stroke and presentation at different speeds and modalities
Speed through efficiency
Finding the dot, and where it is when you can’t find it
Diagnosing shooters and coaching: Why you miss
Red dots at distance vs. up close
Target transitions
Alternate aiming methods: What to do if the dot fails
One-handed shooting: What changes with the dot?
Required equipment:
-Handgun with mounted red dot sight and at least 3 mags
-500 rounds of reliable ammo
-Reliable and good quality belt/drop leg/paddle/AIWB holster (no Serpas, no old leather holsters)
-Eye and Ear protection (electronic preferred but not required)
-Sharpie
-Water/water bottle
-Weather appropriate clothing
-Good attitude and open mind
